A generally accepted norm in crews, is that it is always acceptable to “stop for emotion”. Which is to say, divert the course of the conversation temporarily for someone to share how they’re feeling.
We call it, “pulling the meta lever” because it’s generally a diversion away from discussing an idea or situation, to discussing what it feels like to be in this call with these people right now.
This can also be framed as “moving to the third level of conversation”
